Bovieran: Senior homes blossoming with greenery
Picture a paradise of exotic plants, pleasant climates, and a unique sense of community – this is what the future holds for senior living, thanks to Bovieran. In close collaboration with Sjælsø Management, Palmproject Europe has been involved in the first seven Bovieran projects in Denmark, in addition to the already 20 Bovieran projects in Sweden – with more projects coming on the horizon.
As you step out of your private front door, you’ll find yourself entering a glass-covered 1,400 square meter winter garden inspired by the Mediterranean. This winter garden is filled with exotic plants, palm trees, flowers, and a comfortable climate where community and well-being take center stage, and where the weather is always pleasant. It may sound like a dream, but for 55 elderly couples, it’s a reality as Bovieran opens the doors to the future of senior living. Palmproject Europe has been invited inside as the professional partner for plant selection and ongoing maintenance.

Creating a Riviera-inspired climate
The vision behind Bovieran’s ambitious project for future senior living is to create optimal conditions for health and well-being. This is why the focus in these homes is on creating a safe, bright, and vibrant outdoor environment all year round, drawing inspiration from the French Riviera and Mediterranean countries.
Within Bovieran’s winter garden, you can find olive trees, parrot flowers, palm trees, lemon trees, and much more. There are ample opportunities for communal dinners, parties under the palm trees, challenging your neighbors to a game of petanque, or simply relaxing in one of the many cozy corners surrounded by plants and well-being.
Seven project completed in Denmark – and 13 in Sweden
The first project in Denmark was ready for occupancy on May 1, 2020. In total, 55 apartments were taken over by seniors who had eagerly awaited this day. They had lined up early in the morning when the apartments were first put up for sale – and now, they could finally move in.
They were greeted by the 1,400 square meter winter garden that Palmproject Europe had planted and prepared in just four days. A total of 1,800 exotic plants inspired by the Mediterranean and the French Riviera. Moving forward, it is the professional and trained gardeners from Jydsk Planteservice who will be responsible for caring for the many plants, ensuring they always remain beautiful and green.
In Sweden, Bovieran’s vision has already become a reality, with over thirteen projects completed. By the end of 2022, seven Bovieran projects were ready in Denmark, with more on the horizon.
Almost two years before the construction began, Palmproject Europe traveled the world to handpick plants for Bovieran’s winter garden in Denmark. The idea is to feature plants from different parts of the world, including palms, flowers, cacti, fruit trees, and olive trees, all growing harmoniously in Japanese, tropical, Mediterranean-inspired areas, and a forest landscape.
In total, there will be approximately 1,800 plants in the 1,400 square meter winter garden. Bovieran truly brings the beauty of the world into senior living spaces, ensuring a life enriched with nature and well-being.
